I found this amazing recipe on Pinterest and credit can go out to Vegangela for the initial idea. I did alter it a little and used Almond Butter but it works well with peanut butter too. So here is my version that you can make at home!


  • 3 tbsp Agave Nector
  • 1/2 cup of Almond Butter
  • 1 cup of Puffed Quinoa *
  • 1 tsp Valilla Extract

Combine all the ingredients in a large bowl and mix together. The mixture is hard to roll into balls so I pop it in the fridge for 20 minutes so it gets a bit firmer.

When ready, line a container with baking paper and using a spoon to measure, roll into yummy little balls. Try not to eat them all right away and be sure to pass them around because these little favourite are packed with a good protein punch! (Hey-ya!)

If you want to fancy it up you can melt some dark chocolate (raw or 75% cocoa) and cover one half or break it up into tiny pieces and have a tiny chocolate crunch. Enjoy!

* I bought puffed millet which is also high in protein so if you cannot find the puffed quinoa this is a good substitute.
